Safeguarding

Safeguarding at KCA
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families and carers has a role to play in safeguarding children. In order to fulfil this responsibility effectively, we at the Academy ensure our approach is child centred. We will consider, at all times, what is in the best interest of the child.
We do this by:
- Creating a safe environment for children at the Academy through robust safeguarding practices
- Ensuring that adults who work at the Academy, including volunteers, don’t pose a risk to children
- Making sure staff are trained, know how to respond to concerns and keep-up-to-date with policy and practice
- Teaching children and young people about staying safe in school and online
- Maintaining an environment where children feel confident to approach any member of staff if they have a worry or problem

Report a Concern to King’s Cross Academy
At King’s Cross Academy, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our top priority. If you are worried about a child – or if something has happened that has made you feel unsafe, scared, or unsure – you can report it directly to our safeguarding team through MyConcern.
Anyone can make a report using this form – including:
- Pupils (you can report about yourself or someone else)
- Parents and carers
- Members of the public
You might want to report:
- Something that’s made you feel worried, unsafe or upset
- Concerns about the wellbeing or safety of a child
- Incidents of bullying, in person or online
- Anything that doesn’t feel right
All reports are taken seriously and are reviewed by a trained member of the safeguarding team, who will take appropriate action to support the child or young person involved.
To report a concern, click the ‘Report a Concern’ button below and complete the short form. You can also speak to any trusted adult at school if you prefer – we’re always here to help. If a child is in immediate danger, always call 999.
Please note: KCA staff and volunteers should not use this form. Instead, you must report concerns using the internal MyConcern system as part of our safeguarding procedures.

CEOP is here to keep children safe from sexual abuse and grooming online.
You can make a report directly to the CEOP Safety Centre by clicking on the Click CEOP button above if something has happened online which has made you feel unsafe, scared or worried. This might be from someone you know in real life, or someone you have only ever met online. CEOP take all reports seriously and we will do everything we can to keep you safe.
As well as making a report to the CEOP Safety Centre, the CEOP Education website has information and advice to help you if something has happened to you online.
