The transformation of King’s Cross is one of the largest, most significant urban regeneration projects in the UK. At its heart is a brand new, purpose built primary Academy which is a part of a unique education campus, co-located with Frank Barnes School for Deaf Children.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant responsible as a key worker for a child(ren) with special needs with a professional, responsible approach who will take up post as soon as possible. You will be part of a team working under the direction of the Phase Leaders.

Teaching Assistant with responsibility as key worker for a child / children with special needs

Grade 1, Scale point 6 (Salary £11,177, FTE £20,001)

(Term time only: 25 hrs per week, 39 weeks)

We need a committed Teaching Assistant to join our team and to help us achieve our aims.

  • Able to work to support teaching and learning for an individual(s) with special needs

Mid-day supervisor

Scale 2, point 11 (£6,912 pro rata – term time only, 5 hrs per week, 39 weeks)

Hours: 12noon – 1pm, Mon – Fri, term time only.

Role:

The Midday Supervisor will be responsible for securing and maintaining the safety, welfare and conduct of the pupils in the dining areas, playground and circulation areas during the midday break period. The postholder will provide an outstanding level of customer service to help the Academy realise their vision and provide a safe environment for pupils at the King’s Cross site. S/he will work to achieve the highest possible standards of safety, dining and play for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise pupils when they are eating their meals and general conduct in the classroom, corridors, dining hall and the playground.
  • Promote co-operative behaviour and engage pupils in positive play activities.
  • To ensure accidents are dealt with appropriately and reports completed on time.
  • To assist with setting up and clearing away dining facilities as required.

You will:

  • Have experience of working as part of a team.
  • Have the ability to show initiative, to deal with situations which may arise.
  • Have the ability to interact positively with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Show confidence, warmth, sensitivity, reliability and enthusiasm.
  • Have good interpersonal skills.
  • Have flexibility in relation to start and finish times during busy periods.

Kitchen assistant

Play-worker– Scale 2, point 11, Hours / weeks: 20 hours per week / Term-time only

Salary: £9,216 (£20,616 FTE), Start date: 7th January 2019

We are looking for an exceptional Kitchen assistant to work under our Chef to join our team at King’s Cross Academy. Food is a central feature at the King’s Cross School site. Food is part of the children’s learning. This means children understanding the journey from seed to plate and from field to dish, so they appreciate where food comes from and the ingredients used in creating their school meals.

You will be recognised as someone who is:

  • Able to provide a rich, and varied activities
  • Able to work in partnership with parents and carers to provide high quality and care for the children in our school
